Melanoma Superficial Spreading and Other Variants

There are morphological clinical variations in melanomas which correspond to some extent with different histological pictures but there is always a degree of overlap histologically.  The Superficial spreading melanoma is often asymmetrical with varying lateral spread but the nodular melanoma can sometimes look very symmetrical and has little lateral spread.
